Happy New Year Printable Colouring Page

This is my 3rd and final colouring page for my free holiday mini-series. I hope you’ve enjoyed each new page and I look forward to seeing what you do with them! If you haven’t yet downloaded your copy of the previous pages, don’t worry you can find them here and here.

TLDR; after reaching 500+ followers on Instagram, I wanted to say thank you by giving a little something back to the community for their generous support. So over the past few weeks, I’ve added a new holiday-themed colouring page to the mix for you to have fun with.

Creating these illustrations was such a fun experience, I hope to do more of them in the future! It was quite a personal challenge to create artwork that was meant to be coloured in and what a lovely change of pace as well. It was so fun to create artwork just for the sake of creating.

About this illustration

For this illustration, I wanted to create something with a New Year’s theme. I’ve enjoyed seeing other artists create artwork with characters with their hair flowing above them, I like how it divides the page up. So I wanted to draw my own version of that. I also opted out of doing anything too traditional, yes there are gifts but I went with some cacti and tropical leaves to change it up a bit from my previous 2 illustrations. Plus you gotta represent those who live in warmer climates too, don’t you think? Like my previous pages in this mini-series, I drew everything in ProCreate on my iPad. I probably redrew this illustration about 3 times before I was finally happy with it and feeling like it was ready. Oh, the joys of self-critiquing.
